About
Dr. Arpan Bhowmik was born on 1st February, 1986 at Dinhata, West Bengal. Completed B.Sc. Agriculture (Hons.) in 2007. Completed M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Agricultural Statistics from ICAR-IARI, New Delhi during 2009 and 2013 respectively. Joined ARS in 2012. Worked as scientist and senior scientist at ICAR-IASRI, New Delhi during 2012-2022. Worked in diverse areas of Agricultural Statistics, Experimental Designs, Bioinformatics, Computer Application and statistical modelling. Published more than 130 research papers, 1 book, 8 book chapters etc. Developed different ICT tools, Handled research projects. Guided M.Sc. and Ph.D students. Involved in data advisory. Recipient of many awards including the prestigious IARI merit medal for Ph.D. Received 2 copyrights. 1 Patent has been filed. Presently working as a senior scientist at ICAR-IARI, Assam.
