About
Dr. Dilip Singh Sisodia is working as a Professor & Head at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) at National Institute of Technology (NIT) Raipur, where he has been serving since August 2008. He also worked as a Summer Research Fellow at the Machine Intelligence Unit, Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata. Visiting Faculty at DSPM IIIT, Naya Raipur, and SVNIT Surat. With over 24 years of academic and research experience, he has contributed significantly to the field of academics and research. His research contributions span interdisciplinary domains, emphasizing machine learning, and AI-driven solutions across recommender systems, anomaly detection (Click frauds, Web robots etc.), Biomedical Data Processing, and healthcare. His innovative research and high impact publications have significantly advanced computational methodologies and real-world applications.
Dr. Sisodia has published 145+ referred articles in Web of Science/Scopus-indexed journals, conferences, and book chapters, along with six Scopus-indexed research book volumes and three Indian patents. He has been consistently recognized among the World’s Top 2% influential researchers/scientists (2022–2025) based on a global study conducted by Stanford University researchers in collaboration with Elsevier. His research has garnered 4100 + citations, with H-index: 30 and i10-index: 70. He has presented his work at international conferences in Vietnam, Japan, Malta, Indonesia, Israel, Spain, Singapore, and Thailand etc.
Dr. Sisodia has successfully led sponsored research and consultancy projects with a cumulative funding of more than INR (₹)22.5 million, supported by prestigious agencies including the ISRO, ANRF, DRDO, DST-SERB, CCOST, and FICE, Bengaluru etc. In addition, he has secured grants totaling more than INR (₹)3.6 million from various funding agencies for organizing and attending conferences, workshops, and Faculty Development Programs (FDPs). He has successfully supervised eight Ph.D. scholars and ten M.Tech. dissertations in the field of Machine Learning, and is currently guiding seven more Ph.D. research scholars.
His contributions have been recognized with several prestigious awards, including Best Researcher Award (2024) and Best Faculty Award (2023) by NIT Raipur, Chhattisgarh Best HEI Teachers' Award 2025 by Kalinga University Raipur, Excellent Teacher Award (2023) by The Institution of Engineers (IE) India, Chhattisgarh State Centre, Excellent Engineer of the Year Award (2019, 2024) by The Joint Organizing Committee of Engineers, Chhattisgarh. He is a Fellow of IE (India) and IETE, and a Senior Member of IEEE and ACM.
Dr. Sisodia is currently serving as a Member of the Board of Governance (BoG), NIT Raipur; HoD, CSE at NIT Raipur; Secretary, Chhattisgarh Vijnan Bharti (VIBA) Sansthan, and Executive Committee (ExCom) Member of IEEE Madhya Pradesh Section. He has held several leadership roles in past also, including HoD, CSE at NIT Raipur (2016–2018, 2021–2023), Honorary Secretary of the Institution of Engineers (India), Chhattisgarh State Centre (2024-2026), ExCom Member of IEEE MP Section (2020–2021), and Chairman & Vice-Chairman of CSI Raipur Chapter (2014–2017).
Dr. Sisodia holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from NIT Raipur and an M.Tech. in Information Technology (specializing in Artificial Intelligence), along with a B.E. in Computer Science & Engineering from Rajiv Gandhi Technological University, Bhopal.
His research interests include Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Soft Computing, Anomaly detection, and Biomedical Signal/Image Processing.
