About
Dr. Pradip Kumar Roy was born in July 1980 in the Burdwan district of West Bengal. He has completed his B.Tech. & Ph.D. in Ceramic Engineering from N.I.T. - Rourkela in 2003 & 2009, respectively. He was associated with Crompton Greaves Ltd., Mumbai, for six years as a Deputy Manager of R&D, while leaving. He did his MBA in operations from United Business Institutes, Brussels, Belgium, during his industrial period. He started teaching career at B.I.T.- Mesra, Ranchi, in 2012. He joined IIT (BHU) in 2014 as an Assistant Professor. Presently, Dr. Roy is working as a Professor in the Department of Ceramic Engineering, IIT (BHU). Current research interests are in the fields of Magnetic, Ferroelectric, & Piezoelectric Materials, Nano Materials, High-Temperature Ceramics, and Waste Management. He has published 68 research papers in International Journals, filed 33 (Granted 20) Indian Patents, and presented 77 research papers at National/International Conferences. He is the reviewer of more than 100 International/National Journals and Conferences. He is a Certified Chartered Engineer (CEng) by the British Council, UK. He is also a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers (IEI) (India) and the Institution of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineers (IETE). He has been promoted to the grade of IEEE Senior Member (2025). He is an Associate Editor of the Journal of Asian Ceramic Societies (IF: 2.4) and an Editorial Board Member of Scientific Reports (Impact Factor: 3.9), published under the Nature Portfolio. I am also a Member of the Editorial Board of Indoceram, the journal of the All India Pottery Manufacturers’ Association (AIPMA).
