About

Synthetic organic compounds such as organophosphorus are the primary pollutants of aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems and pose a thoughtful risk to civilian as well as military populations. The search for a novel bio-scavenger for early detection, degradation, and therapeutic detoxification of such pollutants, is of utmost importance in order to reduce the frequency of pollution and death.

The research aims to develop a robust biocatalytic system for multi-purpose applications; (1) antidot for nerve agents’ prophylaxis, (2) bio-sensing, and (3) bioremediation.

We apply state-of-the-art synthetic biology approaches to design a new biocatalytic system using protein engineering, enzyme technology, recombinant technology, and computational biology.
