About

I am currently engaged in basic science research at the SKUAST-Kashmir, India where I use fish models to investigate molecular mechanisms underlying reproductive dysfunction associated with captivity. My previous work at University of Texas and Texas A&M University, United States, focused on how exercise training modulates epicardial adipose tissue, leading to improved cardiometabolic health in a coronary artery disease swine model. Additionally, I examined androgen regulation of mitochondrial function using a nano-delivery approach. During my PhD, I developed an inhibin-based fecundity vaccine and designed chitosan-eurycomanone nano-drugs to enhance reproductive functions in catfish. Following my PhD, I held various academic positions in India, teaching and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students. Throughout my career, I have been the recipient of numerous prestigious fellowships, secured significant international project grants, earned accolades for my poster presentations, and garnered recognition as a prolific reviewer. My long-term research goals include becoming an independent researcher and developing a comprehensive understanding of key metabolic signatures that influence reproductive mechanisms in fish using multi-omics and functional approaches.
