Dr. K. Reka is a Lecturer in the Department of Biostatistics at Christian Medical College (CMC), Vellore, India, with more than a decade of experience in biostatistics, clinical research, and statistical education. She has extensive expertise in the design, analysis, and reporting of clinical and epidemiological research. Before joining CMC, she served as a Senior Biostatistician and Clinical Trial Biostatistician at Manipal AcuNova Ltd. and GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals Ltd., where she was actively involved in clinical trial design, data management, statistical programming, and regulatory-compliant data analysis using SAS, and R.

At CMC Vellore, Dr. Reka serves as the Allied Health Sciences (AHS) Coordinator for Biostatistics and teaches postgraduate and doctoral students across a wide range of academic programs, including MSc Biostatistics, Epidemiology, MD, MS, MPH, and PhD. She provides statistical consultation to faculty members and postgraduate trainees from diverse clinical disciplines and has supervised numerous MSc and PhD research projects involving advanced statistical methodologies.

Dr. Reka has been actively involved as the study statistician in more than 45 investigator-initiated randomized controlled trials (RCTs) across multiple clinical specialties, including anaesthesiology, nephrology, oncology, gastroenterology, neurology, orthopaedics, obstetrics and gynaecology, surgery, cardiology, emergency medicine, urology, and rehabilitation medicine. Her contributions encompass study design, sample size estimation, randomization, development of statistical analysis plans, interim and final statistical analyses, interpretation of findings, and manuscript preparation.

Her clinical trial portfolio includes six multicentre and Phase II clinical trials, in addition to more than 40 postgraduate MD/MS clinical trials, reflecting her extensive experience in supporting high-quality clinical research. She has authored and co-authored more than 100 peer-reviewed scientific publications in national and international journals, contributing significantly to both methodological and applied biostatistics.

Dr. Reka has received several prestigious recognition for her academic and research excellence, including the Dr. P.S.S. Sundar Rao Gold Medal for Best Outgoing MSc Student, the Girijakant Shukla Young Biometrician Award from the International Biometric Society, and the Best Researcher Award among Allied Health Science Faculties from The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai, in both 2024 and 2025, presented by Ma: Subramaniam, Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Government of Tamil Nadu.
