About
Dr. Somenath Ghosh has completed his Ph. D from prestigious Department of Zoology, Banaras Hindu University in the year 2015. Later on he joined the Department of Zoology, Allahabad University first as a Guest Faculty and later on as a CSIR-Post-Doctoral Fellow. Further, he joined as an Assistant Professor, Department of Biomedical Engineering, Shobhit University, Gangoh, Saharanpur, Uttar-Pradesh, India. In the year 2019, he joined as an Assistant Professor, Department of Zoology, Rajendra College, Jai Prakash University, Chapra-841301, India. Now he is serving the same instate as Head, Department of Zoology and Coordinator, Department of Biotechnology, Rajendra College, Jai Prakash University, Chapra-841301, Bihar, India. Till date he is having more than 30 publications in different journals of International/National repute to his credit. Apart from this, he has also authored more than 10 book chapters and has also edited 2 books from various International/National publishing houses including Springer-Nature Publishing House. He has also attended more than 25 International/National seminars/conferences in India and abroad either as a presenter (Oral/Poster) or as a speaker (Invited Lecture/Keynote Address) organized by prestigious Nature and Elsevier-Cell Conference Houses. He has successfully completed more than 6 International/National workshops organized in India and abroad including Beth-Israel Deaconess Medical College, Harvard University, USA in the year 2013. He has also received various awards like Best Poster Presentation Award by Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology (FASEB), USA in July, 2013, Out-standing Oral Presentation Award by Asia Oceania Society of Photobiology (AOSP, Japan) at Sydney Australia in November, 2013, Best Poster Award by Laboratory Animal Science Association of India (LASAI), CSIR-Central Drug Research Institute (CSIR-CDRI), Lucknow, Uttar-Pradesh, India, in March, 2015 and Organizers’ Award by Society for Reproductive Biology and Comparative Endocrinology (SRBCE, Taramani), Tamil-Nadu, India in February, 2015. Recently, he has delivered a Key-Note Address and chaired a Session at an International Conference at Shri Kushaldas University, Kalibangan, Shri Ganga Nagar, Rajasthan, India in February, 2020. He is an elected-Co-Chapter Head of Research Federation of India, Bihar, India. He is editorial board member of International Journal of Photochemistry and Photobiology, Science publishing House, USA and reviewer board member of different journals like International Journal of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences (IJPPS), International Journal of Pharmacy and Biological Sciences (IJPBS), International Journal of Life Science and Pharmaceutical Research (IJLSPR), Scholars Academic Journal of Pharmacy (SAJP), African Educational Research Journal etc. Apart from the regular teaching and academic co-curricular activities he has performed the duty of Patrolling cum Static magistrate in Bihar General Assembly Election, 2020.
