Dr. Swapna C Senan is a Professor in the Department of Microbiology at Sree Gokulam Medical College and Research Foundation, Kerala, India, with over 18 years of experience in academic, clinical, and research microbiology. Her areas of expertise include antimicrobial resistance (AMR), clinical microbiology, microbiome research, molecular diagnostics, molecular characterization of multidrug-resistant organisms, bacteriophage research, cytogenetic studies, and laboratory quality management.
Her research focuses on antimicrobial resistance, molecular microbiology, microbiome studies, bacteriophage therapy, and One Health approaches, with particular interest in multidrug-resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae. She has extensive experience in ISO 15189 laboratory accreditation, NABL quality systems, diagnostic microbiology, translational research, and academic mentoring.
She has published multiple peer-reviewed research articles in indexed journals and is actively involved in collaborative interdisciplinary research projects in microbiology and infectious diseases.
