About
Many Greetings! I was born in May 1984, son of Mr. Chinnaperumal & Mrs. Suganthiral, in a small village of Malaiyour (Amman Nagar), Dharmapuri District, Tamil Nadu. I did my primary education in a middle school in Pudhukarambu Village (1989–1994) after I joined the familiar school of Thiyagi Subramani Siva (Freedom Fighter) at Government Boys Higher Secondary School Papparapatti (1994–2001). And I did my Bachelor degree (2002-05) in Islamiah College, Vaniyambadi, Vellore District, Tamil Nadu. Then, I completed my post-graduation (2005–07), Master of Philosophy (2007–08), and Doctor of Philosophy (2008–16) in regular mode under the guidance of Dr. A. Abdul Rahuman, Associate Professor and COE, PG & Research Department of Zoology, C. Abdul Hakeem College, Melvisharam (College affiliated with Thiruvalluvar University), Tamil Nadu. Thesis entitled “Bioassay-guided isolation and characterization of active antiplasmodial compounds from medicinal plant extracts against Plasmodium falciparum and Plasmodium berghei”.
I achieved a silver medal for overall class performance in the year 2006, honored by General Secretary Alijanab Alhaj S. Ziaudeen Ahamed Sahib. Again, I attained the 2nd rank year of 2007 and was honored by the honorable Governor, Sardar Surjit Singh Barnala, Tamil Nadu State. During my Ph.D. (2009–2011), I received a student merit research project from the “Director of Collegiate Education”, Government of Tamil Nadu, Chennai, entitled “Isolation and characterization of antimicrobial bioactive compounds from medicinal plant extracts against human pathogens” (Rank No. 52/09 (Rc. No. 31066/K2/09)), and I was awarded a senior research fellowship from the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR), Human Resource Development Group, Government of India, New Delhi, India. (April 2011–March 2013), entitled “Antiplasmodial and cytotoxic activity of an isolated compound from Indian medicinal plants against Plasmodium berghei (NK65)” (Award No. 8/524 (0005)/2011EMR-1/dt. 29.03.2011).
Also, I have actively participated in and presented at several national as well as international conferences, seminars, symposiums, and workshops.
I got many awards and prizes for various activities, like the state-level short story written competition, which won first prize (rolling cup and cash prize, 2008), the state-level poetry competition, which won first prize (rolling cup and cash prize, 2010), the state-level poetry competition, which won first prize (rolling cup and cash prize, 2011), and “Kavi Thendral Viruthu," which was received from “Kaviyarasar Kalai Tamil Sangam" in Namakkal (638 182) for best poetry writer. State level poetry competition won first prize (rolling cup and cash prize, 2012), “Elaya Barathi Viruthu, 2012," received from “Kaviyarasar Kalai Tamil Sangam,” Namakkal, 638 182, for best poetry writer.
Presently, I engaged as a Reviewer in several peer-reviewed journals, like the Arabian Journal of Chemistry (Elsevier), BMC Microbiology journal (Bio Med Central), Journal of Photochemistry and Photobiology B: Biology (Elsevier), Journal of Taibah University for Science (Elsevier), Pharmaceutical Biology (Informa Healthcare), etc.
I have good research experience in vector and malarial parasite control using bioactive natural products, as well also compound isolation and purification. As evidence of my research skill, background preparation, intellectual ability and originality of my work, I have 126 publications so far in peer reviewed international journals. I have virtual knowledge of the vectors, pests and parasite control using plant extracts and biosynthesized nanoparticles in animal models. During my research carrier, I gained an extensive knowledge in handling major molecular biology techniques, parasites culture techniques and expertise in the field of metal & metal oxide nano particle synthesis. I have received Indian government meritorious research fellowship award “National Post-Doctoral Fellowship from Department of Science & Technology Science and Engineering Research Board (DST-SERB), Government of India, New Delhi, working under the mentor of Prof. P. Perumal Head, Department of Biotechnology, Periyar University, Salem, Tamil Nadu (2016-2018). Project entitled “Novel approach of silver and gold nanoparticles synthesis using seaweeds from South East coastal regions of Tamil Nadu and their antimalarial activities”
