About
Performing research on Exosome Journey: From Signaling complexes to Sorting and Trafficking. I am an early-career researcher specializing in molecular microbiology, antimicrobial resistance (AMR), and clinical microbiology, with experience working with microbial systems and leading successful research projects. I completed my PhD in Biochemistry, focusing on the deployment of antibiotics and the mechanisms driving the rise of bacterial resistance. During this work, I investigated clinical resistance using spectroscopy and bioinformatics approaches and developed a bio-typing method for resistance plasmids (PBPT: PCR-based pili typing). Following the submission of my PhD thesis, I worked as a research scientist on an international project funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation at PATH (Seattle, USA). This study evaluated the diagnostic accuracy, sensitivity, and specificity of the point-of-care STANDARD™ G6PD test to support malaria case management in India by identifying normal, intermediate, and deficient populations. My research has also included work on Trichomonas vaginalis, a unicellular eukaryotic parasite responsible for the most common non-viral sexually transmitted infection worldwide. Currently, I am investigating the role of outer membrane vesicles released by Pseudomonas aeruginosa in the pathogenesis of pneumonia, with a focus on understanding host– pathogen interactions and identifying potential therapeutic targets
