About

I'm a biomaterials scientist specializing in drug delivery and tissue engineering, currently a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Laboratory for Biointerfaces, Bacteria and Material Interaction Lab at the Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Science and Technology, Empa, Switzerland. I earned my Ph.D. in Biomaterials and Nanobiotechnology from the Faculty of Dentistry at The University of Hong Kong and holds an M.S. (Pharm.) in Medical Devices from the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER), Ahmedabad, India, where I graduated as a Gold Medalist.
My research bridges smart biomaterials, drug delivery, and regenerative medicine, spanning wearable microneedles, stimuli-responsive hydrogel platforms, metal-organic frameworks, and piezoelectric electrospun scaffolds designed to combat infection and accelerate painless wound healing. My work on conductive microneedles and pH- and light-responsive MOFs for multimodal, deep-tissue infection healing drew multiple international recognitions, with >25 peer-reviewed publications in reputable journals and has secured numerous international fellowships and grants as PI or Co-PI, including 2 patents. Recently, I was also appointed as one of three Swiss delegates to the EU-COST Action to develop the 'European Biofilm Regulatory Toolbox', building consensus on biofilm regulatory decision-making for biofilm-associated technologies.
