Prof. Garima Awasthi is a distinguished academic and researcher currently serving as Professor in the School of Basic and Applied Sciences at K.R. Mangalam University, Gurugram, India. With a PhD from the National Botanical Research Institute, Lucknow, she has made significant contributions to plant stress physiology and environmental biotechnology, particularly focusing on heavy metal stress and mitigation strategies using advanced techniques like nanotechnology. Her research has led to the publication of over 90 papers in reputed international journals, earning her an impressive h-index of 23 and more than 2500 citations.
Prof. Awasthi has been honored with several prestigious awards, including top ranks in competitive national exams such as UGC-CSIR NET (AIR-29) and GATE (98.05 percentile), best oral and poster presentation awards, and the Best Paper Award from NBRI. She has held various competitive fellowships and received research grants from major organizations such as SERB-DST. Notably, she has completed SERB-funded projects on arsenic phytotoxicity mitigation and has patents granted and published in her name, including innovations in biochar technology and forensic applications.
