About
Dr. Abdul Jabbar Ansari is an academician, researcher, and engineering professional with approximately 15 years of combined experience, including 12 years in academia and 3 years in industry. He holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, an M.Tech. in Advanced Computer-Aided Design, and a B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering. Currently, he serves as a Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Artificial Intelligence and Cyber Security at Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM). Throughout his career, he has taught a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses and has contributed significantly to engineering education, research, curriculum development, and student mentoring.
As a dedicated researcher, Dr. Ansari has authored and published numerous research articles in reputed SCI, Web of Science, and Scopus-indexed journals. His research interests lie at the intersection of materials science, advanced manufacturing, artificial intelligence applications in engineering, and sustainable technologies. A major focus of his work has been Friction Stir Processing (FSP) and its influence on the microstructural evolution and performance of engineering materials. His research aims to develop innovative approaches for enhancing material properties such as strength, hardness, ductility, corrosion resistance, and wear resistance through controlled microstructural modification.
A significant component of his research involves the investigation of microstructural transformations occurring during and after friction stir processing. To achieve this, he employs advanced characterization techniques, including Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy (EDS), and Electron Backscatter Diffraction (EBSD). These sophisticated analytical tools enable detailed examination of grain refinement, crystallographic texture development, grain boundary characteristics, phase distribution, and elemental dispersion, providing valuable insights into the relationship between processing parameters, microstructure, and material performance.
Dr. Ansari's research has important applications in sectors such as aerospace, automotive, manufacturing, defense, and energy, where the demand for lightweight, high-strength, and high-performance materials continues to increase. His interdisciplinary expertise, combining mechanical engineering principles with emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and data-driven analysis, positions him to contribute effectively to modern engineering challenges. Committed to academic excellence, innovation, and lifelong learning, he continues to advance scientific knowledge through high-quality research while inspiring and mentoring future engineers and researchers through his teaching and scholarly activities.
