About
An accomplished researcher with a strong background in Organic, Medicinal, and Radiopharmaceutical Chemistry, and received a Ph.D. in medicinal chemistry from the Indian premier Institue- National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER)-Hyderabad, India.
The Ph.D. research work focused on "Development of Non-carbohydrate inhibitors of Galectin-1 for the Treatment of Cancer" and the work was published in various high-impact journals such as Bioorganic chemistry, BMCL, Chemical biology & drug design etc. Later, gained work experience in Radiopharmaceutical Chemistry from the National Institutes of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS)-Bangalore, India. The work focused on radiosynthesis and quality control studies of [18F]FDG, [11C]methionine, 99mTc-Trodat, and other radiotracers using GE tracer lab synthesis modules -MX, FX2C, and FX2N for routine clinical use and also on the synthesis of 18F- and 11C-based research radiotracers for PET imaging in oncological and neurological conditions.
Currently, working as a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Molecular Imaging Branch (Chief: Dr. Robert b. Innis), department of the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), and the National Institutes of Health (NIH), USA. the ongoing research centers on the development of chemogenetic tools for neurosciences.
Performing a peer reviewer role for many journals like Nature communications, EJMC, BOC, BMCL, Journal of molecular structure, Journal of computational chemistry, Frontiers in medicine, Frontiers in chemistry etc. and corresponding author for above 10 research and review papers.
