About
Ling Yu received his Ph.D. degree from Hong Kong Polytechnic University (HK Poly U), Hong Kong, China and B.S. and M.S. degrees from Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (NUAA), Nanjing, Jiangsu, China. From 1997 to 2006, he worked as a Research Assistant, Research Associate and Postdoctoral Fellow at the Department of Civil and Structural Engineering, HK Poly U. In May-August 1998,he worked as a Visiting Scholar together with Prof M Link at University of Kassel, Germany. From December 2012 to March 2013, He worked as a Visiting Professor together with Prof Tommy Chan at Queensland University of Technology, Australia. Currently, he serves as a Full Professor at School of Mechanics and Construction Engineering (former Department of Mechanics and Civil Engineering), Jinan University, Guangzhou, China, and a Chutian Scholar Scheme Professor at College of Civil Engineering and Architecture, China Three Gorges University, Yichang, Hubei, China. Professor Yu’s research interests include highway bridge loading, moving force identification, structural health monitoring, structural vibration and its control, automobile NVH and so on. His work has drawn the attention and respect of collaborators all around the world. He has been the PIs of many research projects sponsored by National Natural Science Foundation of China, Research Grant Council of Hong Kong, Grant of German Foreign Academics Exchange (DAAD), Australian CRC for Rail Innovation Funding and local governments. He has gained some important academic awards such as the Chinese Dayu Water Conservancy Award by the Chinese Water Conservancy Ministry for Advances in Science and Technology, Awards by the Guangdong Provincial Government for Advances in Science and Technology, and by the Hubei Provincial Government for Advances in Science and Technology, etc.
