About
Dr. Nayan Ranjan Singha, Associate Professor, Department of Polymer Science and Technology, Government College of Engineering and Leather Technology (Post-Graduate), Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology, Block-LB-11, Salt Lake City, Kolkata 700106
Myself obtained Ph.D. in 2010 from University of Calcutta, and worked as post-doctoral fellow at University of Calcutta ((CSIR-PDF, 2011–2013) and Jadavpur University (UGC-PDF, 2013–2014). I started independent academic-and-research career at Government College of Engineering and Leather Technology (Post-Graduate) (GCELT), Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology, Kolkata.
My research interests include the synthesis of intrinsically fluorescent light-emitting polymers, nonconventional conducting macromolecules, redox active multi-light emitting polymer, and multifunctional stimuli-responsive hydrogels suitable for diverse applications, such as chromo-fluorogenic sensing, ratiometric pH sensing, adsorptive separation, bioimaging, device, and energy; synthesis of functional polymers via RAFT, ATRP, emulsion, and solution polymerization; synthesis of stimuli-responsive redox polymers for diverse applications; fabrication of polymer and waste collagen based biocomposites; modified graphene and MNP based polymer nanocomposites for sensing, separation, energy, and device applications; membrane based separation of binary liquid mixtures; electrochemical sensing; waste management; and computational chemistry. I have been working on the characterization of light-emitting polymers, polymers blends, composites, membranes, and polymer based hybrid materials through NMR, XPS, Raman, FTIR, UV-vis, and PL spectroscopies; TG-DSC analyses; FESEM and HRTEM photomicrographs; DMA, and CV measurements.
I have published more than one hundred (100) research items including articles, reviews, and book chapters, of which I have published forty six (46) papers/ book chapters as corresponding author. In addition, I have published six (6) papers in conference proceedings. I am a regular Reviewer of Elsevier, ACS, RSC, Wiley, Springer, and MDPI journals. I am member of Indian Chemical Society (ICS/ LM), Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers (IIChE/ LM), American Chemical Society (ACS), Royal Chemical Society (RSC), and Forum of Scientists Engineers and Technologists (FOSET/ LM).
