Dr. D B Mondal, Principal Scientist & HEAD, Div of Medicine, IVRI of 15th January, 1964 (West Bengal), graduated of BVSc & AH from BCKVV, West Bengal (1987), Masters of MVSc in Vety Medicine with 1st Class (4.00 out of 4.00) from BAU, Ranchi (1990) and PhD in Veterinary Medicine with 1st Class (08.34 /10.00) from IVRI, Izatnagar (1994). Qualified ARS - NET of 1990 – 91 Batch and selected as Scientist.
Being Head since 2023 & Principal Scientist since 2009 & Scientist from 1993 in ICAR, actively involved for the cause of animal welfare by PG Teaching & Research. Dr Mondal is also recipient of Fellow – National Academy of Veterinary Science (India) and ICAR-IVRI Best Teacher Award for the academic year 2013-14. Eminent leading Scientist in Animal Science at ICAR – Indian Veterinary Research Institute, Izatnagar, Bareilly (UP) with pivotal role for innovative research findings on Nano Drug Delivery System of Nano Structured Polymer for Hepatic Regeneration & Development of Green Synthesized Acaricide for Tick Control, Novel Therapeutic regimen for GI & Metabolic Disorders, Integrated Catalytic & Alternate Translational Therapy against Haemoprotozoan Diseases & Hepatobiliary Dysfunction, Ethnoveterinary Medicine, Mastitis Consortium etc. And he is intimately involved for the cause of Animal Health and its disease Prevention. Completed 07 Extramural Projects and presently acting as Project Coordinator of All India Network Program on Ethnoveterinary Medicine & ICAR - IVRI Mastitis Consortia Program.
Dr Mondal received many Laurels & Awards. He guided more than 18 Doctoral & 9 Masters Students in Veterinary Medicine. Also has filed Two (02) Patents on ‘Herbo Mineral Acaricide Formulation’ & ‘Anti-Diarrhoeal Herbal Formulation’. Published / contributed in high impact 187 Research articles / manuscript with 02 Books and 13 Book Chapter etc. with 574.4 Research Interest Score, 964 Citations, 14 h-Index and 23 i-10 index. Chaired & Member of various distinguished committees.
