About

Er. Sanjay Kumar is currently pursuing a Ph.D. (In-service, Full-time) in the Department of Hydrology at the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee (Uttarakhand), since July 14, 2023. He holds an M.E. in Irrigation Water Management from MPUAT, Udaipur, and a B.Tech. in Agricultural Engineering from JNKVV, Jabalpur. With over 15 years of experience in natural resources management, he has contributed to development, research, extension, and teaching.
Since December 2017, he has been serving as Assistant Professor (Agricultural Engineering) at Banda University of Agriculture and Technology (BUAT), Banda (UP). Previously, he worked as a Subject Matter Specialist (Soil and Water Conservation) at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, ICAR-Central Arid Zone Research Institute, RRS, Bhuj-Kachchh, Gujarat and Research Scientist at Regional Remote Sensing Centre–West (NRSC/ISRO), Jodhpur (Raj.). He gained expertise in remote sensing and GIS technologies (ArcGIS, ERDAS Imagine, Q-GIS) for land and water resource management. He has hands-on experience with hydrological models such as SWAT and Python programming for machine learning and data mining applications in water resources.
His work spans national and state-level projects focused on surface and groundwater management in arid and semi-arid regions of India. He is well-versed in implementing watershed development projects, designing soil and water conservation measures, and monitoring and evaluation of developmental projects for the management of land and water resources.
