Prof. Abdus Samad is Professor and Head of the Department of Ocean Engineering at IIT Madras. His research focuses on ocean energy systems, design optimization, and the application of artificial intelligence in engineering.
He has authored and edited several books published by Springer, published over 178 Scopus-indexed articles, and holds five patents. His work has been recognized through multiple awards, including honors from the Institution of Engineers (India).
Prof. Samad has established sustained international collaborations with leading institutions in the UK, USA, Germany, Korea, and Japan, and has contributed to the organization of major international conferences and workshops.
