About
Dr. Santanu Paul has been serving as an Assistant Professor in the Electrical Engineering department at National Institute of Technology (NIT) Durgapur, India, since 2022. Dr. Paul received the Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay in 2020. He was a CV Raman postdoc fellow in the Electrical Engineering department at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore. He is actively and passionately involved in research related to renewable energy and green mobility. His research area includes operation, planning, and reliability aspects of hybrid offshore wind and solar PV power plants, control of DC offshore wind plants (OWPs), AC/DC collection system design of OWPs, Multi-carrier energy storage application to bulk power systems, Digital twin, hydrogen fuel cell & electric vehicles, etc. Dr. Paul has served as the guest Editor of special issues of international journals, invited speaker in faculty development programs (FDPs), and session chairs in many international conferences.
His research team has developed an indigenous software package for comprehensive planning of large-scale wind power plants, named "Wind Farm Planner". Dr. Paul has also been the main driving force for the development of the power system simulation software "Vidyutik Urja Prabaha". To download the software, visit our website below,
