Dr Raj Kumar Bhardwaj is the recipient of the UN4IM (UNESCO Fellowship for Information Management) and the prestigious Commonwealth Professional Fellowship, United Kingdom. He is also the recipient of the prestigious Informatics Innovation Award 2022 and the Informatics Outstanding Researcher Award 2022. ASIALA Outstanding Research Award 2022 was also conferred upon him at Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh. Presently working as Assistant Professor in the School of Social Sciences in IGNOU, New Delhi. Earlier, he worked as Chief Librarian at St. Stephen’s College, University of Delhi (India).and as Assistant Professor in the School of Information and Communication Studies at the Central University of Punjab, India and played a vital role in establishing the Department including the curriculum design for the Master and PhD programme and introducing four new courses viz. (i) Legal Information System (ii) Research Data Management, (iii) E-Research Tools and Techniques and (iv) Entrepreneurship in Library and Information Sc. Prior to this, he served as Deputy Librarian at Nalanda University and Judges Library, High Court of Punjab and Haryana, Chandigarh. He holds MCA, MLIS and M.Phil, PhD from the University of Delhi. He has more than 65 publications in various reputed journals published by Emerald Publishing, Taylor & Francis, Cambridge University Press, book, conference proceedings, conference papers, and course content. Besides this, he has delivered 100 invited talks at various international conferences, workshops, and training programmes such as IFLA WLIC, DELNET-NACLIN, Asian Library Association conference, Chandigarh Library Association Conference etc. Several of his lectures were also telecasted on television DTH channels. Further, he trained librarians of more than 500 Government Schools in Delhi in the last 10 years through In-Service Training programmes. He has completed five major research projects and working on several international projects. He is the reviewer for 10 international and 3 national journals in information studies. Dr Bhardwaj is also the Information Coordinator and Standing Committee member of the IFLA (Hague, Netherlands) IM Section and Jury Member of the International Paper Contest of ASIS&T (USA). He is the founder of the startup ISVI. Recently his works received the Diversity Scholarship Award 2022 from the USA. His areas of interest are Research Data Management, institutional repositories, evaluation of information systems, legal information systems, open access, legal and legislative metadata, e-learning, social media analytics, text mining, scientometrics, semantic web and digital library development.
