Currently working as a Senior Researcher (Water and Environment), Institute of Water Modelling. Former Director (Geology), Ground Water Hydrology, Bangladesh Water Development Board and Professor, Adjunct Faculty in the Departments of Environmental Science and Management, Bangladesh University of Professionals and Independent University Bangladesh, Adjunct Faculty in the Department of Soil, Water and Environment and Department of Disaster Science and Climate Resilience, University of Dhaka. Professional and research background in groundwater hydrology, environmental and disaster science and management, water supply, resources assessment and monitoring as well as groundwater models. 30 years of experience in Bangladesh Water Development Board and also involved in national and international activities with government, non-government and international organizations and universities. Seven books and 123 research papers have been published in reputed national and international journals and as book chapters. Research papers are presented at many national and international events, home and abroad. Experienced in preparing national strategies, project proposals, guidelines, policies and acts related to water resources including Bangladesh Delta Plan 2100 and MAR. Reviewer and associate/research editor of many international journals.
