About

Profile: He is presently Professor and Head of Public Health Dentistry, JSS Dental College and Hospital, JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research, Mysore, Karnataka. He has completed PhD in Dental Sciences from Pacific Academy of Higher Education and Research University, Udaipur. He has more than thirteen years of teaching experience in dentistry which includes active teaching for undergraduates and post graduates. He has guided six students in their Masters program (MDS) in Public Health Dentistry. His area of interest is Herbal extracts in oral health care. He has pursued his Ph.D in this area and has more than ten papers published on herbal extracts in prevention and control of dental diseases in various national and international indexed journals of repute. He has won two best paper awards at national level conferences for research papers in this area. He is member of Editorial board in Journal of Indian Association of Public Health Dentistry and a reviewer in more than 10 international journals. He is currently pursuing FAIMER Fellowship from PSG Institute of Medical Sciences, Coimbatore. He has more than seventy publications in various national and international journals. He has been a resource person for various research methodology workshops organized by government universities. His strength is his dedication and sincerity in whatever he does. He is presently a registered Ph.D guide in the University and would like to undertake research leading to Ph.D among his students in this area. Overall, he is an approachable teacher who aspires to learn everyday and share whatever he knows to the benefit of his students and society at large.
Objective: To develop and introduce a customized tobacco counseling training program for dental undergraduate students in Public Health Dentistry curriculum in next two years.


Administrative or other experience: He is presently the Chairman, Post graduate Board of Studies in Dentistry of JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research. He is Member in Academic council, CCLPE, Sub committee for framing syllabus for PhD and IQAC of JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research. He was formerly, Chairman of UG Board of studies in Faculty of Dentistry, JSS AHER. He is also one of the coordinators for initiating new courses in JSS Dental College and Hospital.

He was formerly the member in Faculty of Dentistry, People’s University, Bhopal. He was also the coordinator, NAAC Steering committee for People’s Dental Academy.
