About
Dr. Suresh P, Professor in Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering with additional responsibilities as Dean, International Relations and Dean - Human Resource Development Centre, has 18 years of teaching, research and industry experience in reputed institutions and industries. From 2025, serving as the ABET Accreditation Evaluation Committee Member (ABET-PEV). He is a senior member of IEEE, associated with several IEEE societies, including the Communication Society, Electronics Packaging Society, Photonic Society, Professional Communication Society, Electron Devices Society, etc. He is the Chairman, IEEE Electronics Packaging Society, Vice Chairman, IEEE Nanotechnology Council, Madras Chapter and he is also being the IEEE Biomedical Engineering Society as a student branch counsellor, VelTech University. He is associated with numerous technical societies, including the Institute of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers, Indian Society for Technical Education, The Optical Society of America, the Institute of Engineers (India) where he holds the rank of Chartered Engineer and Association for Computing Machinery (ACM). He is a Fellow Member of IETE and actively involved in various activities organized for the faculty members and students.
He completed Doctorate in the Faculty of Electrical Engineering from Anna University in the year 2014, Master of Engineering in Embedded System Technologies from Anna University of Technology in the year 2010 and Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Anna University in the year 2006. Under his guidance, 12 research scholars were awarded doctoral degrees, and six are currently pursuing. He supervised 22 thesis at the master level and 27 thesis at the bachelor level in various disciplines. His area of expertise is Optical Engineering, Nano Photonics, Silicon Photonics, Artificial Intelligence, Autonomous Systems, Embedded Systems, Reconfigurable Computing, System on Chip, IOT, etc.
He published 150+ peer-reviewed international journal articles in IEEE, Elsevier, Inderscience, Springer, Optical Society of America, IOP-Journal of Optics, WSEAS, Photonics Journals, MDPI, Hindawi, etc. He presented 50+ research articles in international and national conferences organized by highly reputed institutions like IIT Delhi, IIT Bombay, IRDE (DRDO), Dehradun, IIT Madras, Anna University, etc. He organized international and national conferences, symposiums, workshops and meetings. He worked as an editor for various publishers. He edited 3 books for Springer, CRC Press (Taylor and Francis), and IGI Global. Published seven book chapters. He is also edited 3 special issues in SCI and ESCI journals. Delivered many keynote addresses and special lectures at various international and national conferences and seminars.
At VelTech University, he is a member of the Academic Council, Board of Research Studies, Board of Management, Internal Quality Assurance, Human Resource Development Center, Office of International Relations, etc. He recorded the preliminary report for the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) and the National Assessment Accreditation Council (NAAC), and he is a member of the Academic Audit for Engineering Programs.
