About
Recently, I have been working on multiple projects with my colleagues at Columbia University such as unconventional solutions for re-energizing existing natural gas transportation infrastructure for green hydrogen transportation using energy harvesting solution. The sensor nodes we are developing for concentration mix analysis and infrastructure health monitoring can benefit from the harvested energy from the flow of the gas in the pipelines. In addition to this, I am also working on the boosting of silicon solar cell efficiency through up-conversion assisted enhanced absorption in near infrared, MEMS based energy harvesting, and variable electric field graded densified functional ceramics.
As a research scientist I am also working on design and fabrication of back-plane 1T-1C RAM cell array for functional material characterization. I have developed a solution-processed piezoceramic thin-film MπM parallel-plate capacitor structure to determine electromechanical coefficient using capacitance-voltage measurements, where, the results were validated using FEM-based modeling and compared with several measurements in literature, including piezo response force microscopy-based measurements. As a proof of concept a metal-piezo-metal (MπM) based single pixel (sensing element or energy harvester) 1x1 cm energy harvester was fabricated using solution-processed potassium sodium niobate films on aluminum-coated polyethylene terephthalate (PET) substrates.
