About
I would like to introduce myself as Dr. Sudipta Halder, working as Assistant Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, National Institute of Technology Silchar (An Institute of National Importance by MHRD, Govt. of India), India. I have done B.E. in Mechanical Engineering, M.Tech. in Materials Engineering from BESU presently IIEST Shibpur and Ph.D. from IIT Roorkee. I worked at Material Science & Technology Division, NML-Jamshedpur during my M.Tech. project work, where I completed my thesis on “Development of Nd-Fe-B based nanocomposite permanent magnets”. In my Ph.D. program in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, I completed my thesis under the guidance of Prof. P.K.Ghosh in adhesive joining laboratory at Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee. My thesis was focused on “Characterization of Ultrasonically Dispersed Nanoparticle Filled Epoxy Adhesive”. I worked as Specialist Engineer at TATA Consulting Engineers in Department of Process & Technology for more than three years. I have handled more than three industrial consultancy projects in industry and one project from DST, India during my PhD research work related to composites materials. I have a working experience of more than six years on materials engineering and other fields in both industrial and academic institutes.
Presently, I am working on polymer nanocomposites, surface functionalization, encapsulation technology, hybrid multi scale laminated composites, bio-composites, smart adhesives, molecular dynamic simulation and self-healing materials. I have published thirty five papers combining international journals and conferences and filled three Indian patent.
