About
Professor Saidur Rahman has a part time affiliation with the department of Engineering, Lancaster University. He is also currently working as a Distinguished Research Professor and Head of the Research Centre for Nano-Materials and Energy Technology (RCNMET) at Sunway University. Previously, he worked as a Chair Professor at the Center of Research Excellence in Renewable Energy at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM). Prior to joining KFUPM, Prof. Saidur worked 18 years in University of Malaya, a premier research University in Malaya. Professor Saidur was graduated from BUET in 1997 from the department of mechanical engineering and completed his PhD from University of Malaya, Malaysia. For the years 2014-2018, Thomson Reuters awarded him highly cited researcher for being among the top 1% researchers for most cited documents in his research field. Professor Saidur also won highest accumulation citation award from the University of Malaya for the consecutive four years (2011-2014). A number of his papers were listed among the top 25 articles in Sciencedirect published by Elsevier Limited. Prof. Saidur published more than 400 journal papers and majority of them are in top ranking journals. According to Web of Science, Professor Saidur is ranked #1 on the “nanofluids” related research topic. He has more than 23,500 citations with an h-index of 77 according to Google Scholar citation. Professor Saidur also shared his research and publication experiences with many local and international university staff and students on writing high impact journals, research proposals and thesis. He has supervised more than 65 postgraduate students so far. He secured and managed more than 10 million ringgit research grants. Professor Saidur is currently working in improving the performance solar thermal system with the application of nanofluids and Phase Change Materials.
