About
Dr. Md. Nazrul Islam, Professor of Rheumatology has born in Saidpur, Nilphamari. In his bright medical career, he stood first in the final MBBS exam in 1986 and obtained FCPS and MD in Internal Medicine in 1997. As a scholar of the Royal Perth Hospital of Western Australia, he completed a Clinical Fellowship in Rheumatology in 2000. Since 2001, Prof. Islam has been serving the Dept. of Rheumatology of BSMMU as a regular faculty and presently holds the charge of course coordinator as well. He received many awards (young investigator fellowships) both from APLAR and EULAR and participated in many national and international conferences as an invited speaker. He has 108 publications in different international peer-reviewed journals and national journals. He himself serves as a peer reviewer of several journals. He is the Secretary General of Asia Pacific League of Associations for Rheumatology (APLAR), Associate Editor of International Journal of Rheumatic Disease (IJRD), Associate Editor of Journal of Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons (BCPS), founder life member & at present Vice President of Bangladesh Rheumatology Society (BRS), Life member of Indian Rheumatology Association, Association of Physicians of Bangladesh, BCPS, BMA and platinum member of CRP (Savar, Bangladesh). Chairman of Professor Nazrul Rheumatology Foundation & Research (PNRFR). Apart from faculty activities, he runs Modern One Stop Arthritis Care and Research Center® (www.mskcare.com) as Director.
