About

Dr. Prakash M is a healthcare professional SIDDHA physician from the AYUSH department and also a biostatistician and monitoring and evaluation specialist with nearly twelve years of experience and proficiency in working with many implementation partners, handling large data sets on health like DLHS/NFHS, designing a research study, and sampling methodology. I am the project lead and implemented NFHS 5, a large-scale survey in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry covering all the districts. Provided monitoring and evaluation training for a large team and handled accounts of about 8 crore. Handled a team size of around 400 from three different regions (Tamilnadu, Mahe-Kerala, and Yanam-Telugu). Through his excellent work in NFHS 5, my school got NFHS 6, and now I am the advisor and M&L coordinator for NFHS 6. He is also the co-PI for a project “Effect of COVID-19 on Utilization of RMNCH Services in Tamil Nadu: A Mixed Methods Study,” funded by TNHSRP Tamil Nadu and led by IIT Madras. Recently, he was awarded PI by IIT Madras on an operations research project under TNHSRP titled “Understanding “Abling” behaviors for non-communicable disease screening in the Organized Sectors of Tamil Nadu using the CFIR Framework. Also, I am the Co-PI for multiple other projects funded by state, national, and international projects.
