Dr. Basharat Ahmad Malik holds a doctorate from the Department of Library & Information Science, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh. He has several research publications to his credit, including works in the International Journal of Disaster Risk Reduction, Global Knowledge, Memory and Communication, Ecological Frontiers (earlier name: Acta Ecologica Sinica), Journal of Librarianship and Information Science, The Serials Librarian, Nordic Journal of Botany, GeoJournal, Ethnobotany Research and Applications, Collection and Curation, Annals of Library and Information Studies, DESIDOC Journal of Library & Information Technology, Journal of Indian Library Association (JILA), and International Journal of Knowledge Management and Practices. He has presented research papers at various national and international conferences.
Dr. Malik’s research interests include knowledge sharing, scientometrics, e-learning, and data extraction & analysis. Previously, he was a member of the automation team appointed by the Central Library of the Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST), Awantipora (J&K) in 2010. He also worked as a librarian at Harmukh College of Education and Al-Noor College of Education, Bandipora (J&K), from 2011 to 2012 and 2013 to 2015, respectively. In 2016, he served as a librarian at Govt. Degree College Damhal, Hanjipora (J&K). Currently, he serves as a Junior Librarian in the School Education Department of Jammu and Kashmir, posted at Govt. Higher Secondary School Devalgam, Kokernag. He also runs a YouTube channel (www.youtube.com/@DrBasharatMalik), which is a valuable resource for researchers, librarians, and anyone interested in learning new computational, research, and academic techniques.
