About

I am working as Assistant Professor in National Forensic Sciences University, Gandhinagar, India. I have twelve years of research experience in toxicology as evident from publications (26 Papers) in human toxicology, target enzyme interaction, monitoring and health risk assessment. My research focused on environmental toxicants such as organochlorine pesticides, metals, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and related oxidative stress possibly involved in associated health risks among exposed human population, especially women and children.
My research work was carried out in Indian Institute of Toxicology Research, Lucknow in collaboration with King George’s Medical University (KGMU), Lucknow, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi and S. N. Medical College, Agra. My research focused on environmental toxicants such as organochlorine pesticides, metals, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and related oxidative stress possibly involved in associated health risks among exposed human population, especially women and children. As part of my doctoral work, I have biomonitored blood and tissue organochlorine pesticide levels in association with breast cancer (Study published); also, determined blood PAHs in women suffering from benign and malignant breast lesions due to their probable potential role in the development of hormone dependent malignancies (Study published). Additionally, I have studied the effect of pesticides on blood and tissue, their relationship with lipid-peroxidation and antioxidant status in the women suffering from malignant and benign breast disease. Also, worked on MCF-7; human breast adenocarcinoma cells line to evaluate the rate of proliferation due to organochlorine pesticides. Having work experience on children in special reference to aplastic anemia (Study published). Further, I have also investigated the role of placental residues of organochlorine pesticides, metals and PAHs, possibly involved in reproductive toxicity i.e. preterm deliveries in women (Study published). My experience also involved the development of novel analytical methods/procedures for the accurate and precise determination of chemical pollutants. As a research team member, I am responsible for presenting work at national and international conferences, seminars, writing manuscripts and designing projects. I am very much interested to learn new techniques for future research.
Apart from research work I have 1 year experience in Council of Science and Technology- Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow. Where, I was engaged in formulation, review and report the findings of funded research projects related to the area of medical and chemical sciences. I was engaged in teaching from last six years for M.Sc and M.Phil (Chemistry) classes.
