About

I am Venkatesh Vaithiyam, and I have completed my DM in Gastroenterology from one of the prestigious institutes in India (Govind Ballabh Pant Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research, New Delhi) and have been working as an assistant professor in the same department since 2024. Before joining GIPMER, I did my senior residency and completed my MD in medicine at AIIMS, New Delhi. I have also completed the ESEGH diploma in April 2024 and the WISE 2025. As a faculty member in the Department of Gastroenterology, I have been involved in the training of various Gastro fellows while simultaneously conducting my research. I have performed more than 2000 ERCPs and 100 EUS procedures and continue to do so. Currently, I am improving my skills in third-space endoscopy/ ESD and EMR. My primary areas of research include EUS, ERCP and DGBIs.
