About
My research integrates genetics, epigenetic regulation, DNA damage and repair biology, and the cervicovaginal microbiome to understand the molecular drivers of women’s cancers, particularly HPV-associated disease. I focus on how genetic variation, epigenetic instability, and microbial dysbiosis converge to shape tumor evolution, immune signaling, and therapeutic response, with the goal of identifying mechanism-driven biomarkers and precision treatment strategies.
Building on my PhD in Molecular & Human Genetics (Banaras Hindu University, India) where I studied genetic and epigenetic alterations in DNA repair genes and their correlation with chemoradiotherapy outcomes in cervical cancer, I expanded my expertise as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, New York. There, I integrated molecular genetics, multi-omics, and translational models to decode microbiome–epigenome crosstalk in reproductive health and oncology.
Currently, my work continues to bridge molecular mechanisms with clinical translation, aiming to identify predictive biomarkers and design precision interventions. I am particularly interested in context-aware cancer therapeutics that adapt to biological feedback, integrating single-cell, spatial, and epigenomic data with CRISPR and AI-driven approaches.
In addition to my research, I contribute to the scientific community as a reviewer and editorial board member for international journals in oncology and molecular medicine. My long-term vision is to build collaborative programs that address women’s health challenges in India and globally, advancing adaptive and personalized cancer medicine.
