About

I completed my Ph.D. in PHYSICS on 19/03/2022, especially in the field of pyroelectric, electrocaloric, and ferroelectric storage energy under the supervision of Prof. Sanjeev Kumar at Punjab Engineering College (Deemed to be University), Chandigarh, India. I have worked on the synthesis of Pb(ZrxTi1-x)O3 [PZT] and BaTiO3 [BT] using the solid-state reaction method and Sol-Gel method. I have investigated the effect of dopants on the crystal structure, ferroelectric and dielectric properties of Pb(ZrxTi1-x)O3, and BaTiO3. I have investigated the crystal structural analysis using Rietveld refinement (Fullproof software or GSAS software) on XRD data and visulization of the unit cell structure using the Vesta software. I have studied the pyroelectric effect, electrocaloric effect, critical exponent, ferroelectric storage energy. In order to investigate the order (short or long-range interaction) of interaction among the electric dipole, I have investigated dielectric spectroscopy. I have also investigated the critical behavior of relaxors to unveil the systematic effect of Polar Nano Regions (PNRs) on electrocaloric effect (ECE) and ferroelectric energy storage properties via dielectric spectroscopy and isothermal P (polarization) vs E (electric field) loops measurements.
Apart from the practical skills, I also gained a lot of valuable practical skills and experience during the establishment of our lab. I have good experimental skills in handling indigenous / automatics temperature arrangements. I have good experience in synthesizing ferroelectric materials like Lead zirconium titanate (PZT), Polyvinylidene Difluoride (PVDF), Barium titanate (BaTiO3), and multiferroic materials. I have used solid-state, sol-gel, auto-combustion, and hydrothermal synthesis methods for bulk or nano-size materials. My future research interests include fabricating thin-film or bulk ceramics for energy harvesting, pyroelectric and electrocaloric effects using ferroelectric materials. I am also interested in working on energy harvesting using solar-cell, flexible piezoelectric like PVDF, battery, and super-capacitor. I am also interested in fabricating sensor devices using piezoelectric or multiferroic materials for practical applications.
