Dr. Biswajit Bera (ResearcherID: X-2099-2019; Scopus Author ID: 57210793090) is presently working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Geography Sidho-Kanho-Birsha University, Purulia (West Bengal, India). He was awarded M.Sc and Ph.D from University of Calcutta and has under gone the P.G Certificate Course in Ground Water Hydrology from IISWBM, Kolkata. Prior to joining the Department of Geography in Sidho-Kanho-Birsha University, he has render 8 long years service in the Department of Geography in Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata. He briefly served at Bijoy Krishna Girl's College (Calcutta University) for one and half years. Dr. Bera is the recipient of prestigious Young Geomorphologist Award conferred by the Indian Institute of Geomorphologist in 2008. In 2009, he was awarded the International Young Geomorphologist scholarship by International Association of Geomorphologists (IAG) and went to Melbourne, Australia to participate at International seminar. He has visited several countries like Australia, Singapore, Bangladesh, Nepal and Bhutan to participate and deliver lecture on different core aspects of Geography. Dr. Bera regularly appears in debate/talk show on recent and burning issues of environment and society organized by India’s biggest public sector electronic media Prasar Bharati Broadcasting Corporation of India. BB sir as fondly and affectionately called by his students, he has served as the executive member of prestigious Indian Institute of Geomorphologists (IGI) and “Himalaya Samiksha Parisad”, Kolkata. As an organizing committee member, he has contributed immensely for the successful hosting of 29th Conference of the IGI and 9th International Conference on Geomorphologists of world renowned and esteemed International Association of Geomorphologists (IAG). In his 10 long years of Academic service Dr. Bera has published four books for schools, college and university students and has published several research articles in peer reviewed journals along with rendering the service of editor and reviewer for various publishing house like John Wiley & Sons for academic journal " Singapore Journal of Tropical Geography" and National level Research Journal of the “Konkan Geographers Association”, Maharashtra India. Presently Dr. Bera is actively engaged in completing the ICSSR Major project awarded by Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India. His fundamental research work toward the welfare of the people through his project “An Assessment Of Fluoride Dynamics In Hydro- Geological Diversity: - Its Effect On Human Society And Mitigation Measures, Purulia, West Bengal, India” has garner far and wide appreciation and coverage from both the Nation leading print and electronic media along with the world of academic excellence. Presently he is grossly engaged in guiding and supervising the Ph.D. scholars registered under his valuable leadership.
