About

Currently I am working as a Project Research Scientist at the International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB), New Delhi, India. My research focuses on the preclinical evaluation of small molecule inhibitors targeting the LOX-1 receptor for the treatment of atherosclerosis.

My expertise encompasses in vivo studies utilizing ApoE-/- and advanced ApoE-/-Fbn1+/- mouse models, including animal handling, atherosclerotic plaque analysis (en face analysis), and histopathological examination of vital organs. I possess strong technical skills in microtomy, ultramicrotomy for serial aorta sectioning, and immunohistochemistry for assessing LOX-1 expression in aortic tissues. In vitro expertise includes cell culture of HUVECs and transfected CHO K1-LOX-1 cells, protein purification, Western blotting, RNA isolation, DNA isolation for genotyping, and PCR.

During my PhD at the University of Rajasthan, Jaipur, I developed and characterized gold nanoparticle-conjugated MCP I (isolated from Carica papaya seed extracts) as a novel male contraceptive. This research involved the evaluation of the safety and efficacy of the nanoformulation through teratological studies in F1 generation rats.

My research interests lie in the intersection of cardiovascular disease biology, nanomedicine, and the development of novel therapeutics using cutting-edge in vitro and in vivo preclinical models.
