Mahfuza Akter, PhD, is a microbiologist studying the evolution, ecology, and transmission of antimicrobial resistance across bacterial populations and human–environment interfaces. Her research integrates experimental microbiology, molecular approaches, and bacterial genomics to investigate how ecological and evolutionary processes influence the emergence, persistence, and dissemination of antimicrobial resistance.
