About
Dr. D. P. S. Rathore (b.March27, 1955) did his Ph.D. Chemistry (1981) from A. M. U., India. He has joined Atomic Minerals Directorate for Exploration & Research, Department of Atomic Energy, India in 1981, served as Laboratory Head, Chemistry Laboratories, Jaipur ( 1990-92), Jamshedpur (1996-2000) and Nagpur ( 2012-14). As Incharge he has set up new chemistry laboratories of his Directorate. He has served as SO-G ( Chemistry), STRC, WR, Jaipur since October, 2014 to March31, 2015 and superannuated on 31-03-2015. Dr. Rathore has served as Coordinator Mobile Geochemical Laboratory (MGCL) for hydrogeochemical reconnaissance surveys in remote field areas by carrying out analysis of uranium, major cations & anions and trace elements. He has analysed different geological materials such as rocks, core samples, leach liquors, feeds, soil, sediments etc for uranium, major, minor and trace elements by using classical and modern instrumental techniques. His field of research interest/expertise is metal complexation, spectrophotometric determinations, metallochromic indicator synthesis, chelating polymeric resins, optical fluorimetry, laser-induced fluorimetry, Spectrophotometry,AAS, ICP-OES and Geostandard certifications. Dr. Rathore has been actively involved in testing the response of laser/LED fluorimeter fabricated by RRCAT, Department of Atomic Energy, India/Quantalase Pvt Ltd, Indore, India and has suggested improvements. One of his research papers published in Talanta,62 (2004)343-349 on the ‘analytical applications of differential technique in laser-induced fluorimetry’ (DT-LIF) for Uranium exploration and processing industries has been cited as the most interesting paper published in other journals by the journal of the Geological Society of India, 2004. He has pioneered in developing reference measurement procedures for uranium determination in ores and similar matrices.
Dr. Rathore was awarded merit scholarship during PG, awarded SRF, CSIR, New Delhi, Life member of Indian Chemical Society, Life member of Indian Nuclear Society, Life member of Indian Society of Analytical Scientists, got nomination by INSA council and serving as mentor/expert for Inspire National Programme of DST, India. He is a Fellow of Royal Society of Chemistry(FRSC). He is actively involved as reviewer for various journals, such as, Analytical Chemistry, Geostandards and Geoanalytical Research, Analytica Chimica Acta, Talanta , RSC Advances, Journal of Analytical Atomic Spectrometry, International Journal of Radiation Biology, International Journal of Environmental Analytical Chemistry, Journal of Environmental Monitoring, Sensors and Actuators B: Chemical, J. Hazardous materials, Journal of Radioanalytical and Nuclear Chemistry, International Journal of Environmental Monitoring, Journal of analytical Methods in Chemistry and Analysis, Peak Journal of Physical and Environmental Science Research, Desalination and Water Treatment, Spectrochimica Acta Part A: Molecular and Biomolecular Spectroscopy, and Journal of Indian Chemical Society. His publications have commendable citations per paper as per Scopus and Science citation index.
He is Fellow of Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC) (2015). He is a Mentor for DST-Inspire, Programme, Govt. of India, nominated by Indian National Science Academy (INSA) Council.(2009). Member: American Chemical Society, ACS Member Number – 30493688, Awarded July 2021, Fellow of the Indian Chemical Society, India (2008). Awarded March 2019-Lifetime Achievement Award, ITSR Foundation Award-2019. He is actively involved as reviewer for more than 30 international journals. Certificate of excellence in Reviewing: Current journal of Applied Science and Technology (2020), Reviewer Recognition Certificate:Certificate of Excellence in Reviewing: Asian Journal Geological Research(2020), Reviewer Recognition certificate by The Editors of Spectrochimica Acta Part A:Molecular and Biomolecular Spectroscopy, Elsevier,Amsterdam,The Netherlands (2016), Outstanding Reviewer Talanta: Certificate of outstanding contribution in reviewing was awarded November 2016 to D P S Rathore.
