Prof. Margam Madhusudhan is a distinguished researcher and academician currently serving in the Department of Library and Information Science, University of Delhi, with an illustrious career spanning over 26 years. He has held several key leadership positions, including Deputy Dean of Academics, University Librarian (I/c), Member of the Academic Council, and earlier service at Goa University. In these roles, he has contributed significantly to academic policy-making in the four-year UG Programme, library infrastructure enhancement, and research-driven innovations, particularly integrating AI tools in education and research.
Prof. Madhusudhan has received 19 prestigious awards, including the Innovative Educator Award in 2025, reflecting his dedication to academic advancement. As a committed mentor, he has supervised 20 PhD theses, 29 MPhil dissertations, and over 225 project reports in diverse LIS domains. He serves on several boards of studies in universities and on the editorial boards of 12 reputed journals globally.
He has a strong record of scholarship and contribution to global information studies. He authored or edited ten books and published over 235 research papers, including 80 in reputed international journals. His research has achieved significant global visibility, with 2,866 citations on Google Scholar, an h-index of 25, and an i10-index of 51, demonstrating sustained academic excellence, innovation, and impact in the LIS discipline. He ranks among the top 2% of India’s most influential scientists according to Stanford University, 2023 and in 2014, he attained the distinguished status of an "IAO-Certified Faculty Member (USA)."
He is a life member of ILA, IASLIC, MALA, IATLIS, TSLA and many other professional associations. His research interests include evaluating Websites, Web-OPACs, ICT in Libraries, Mobile-based Library services, and Text mining.
