About
I earned my PhD in Microbiology from Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU), Rohtak, Haryana, in 2023, where I refined my expertise in applying theoretical and experimental methodologies to Enzyme and Fermentation Technology. Before this, I completed my Master’s degree in Microbiology at Doiphin (PG) Institute of Biomedical and Natural Sciences (DIBNS), Dehradun, Uttarakhand, India, in 2016. Following my postgraduate studies, I contributed as a project staff member to various extramural projects sponsored by the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), a funding agency, at DIBNS, Dehradun; the Avantha Centre for Industrial Research and Development (ACIRD); and MDU, Rohtak. This leverages my interdisciplinary background spanning environmental science, microbiology, protein engineering, and nanomaterial synthesis.
My research is driven by a commitment to integrating AI-based bioprocess optimisation with biochemical characterisation and material sciences to develop innovative solutions. Specifically, I explore fermentation technologies, optimising microbial and enzymatic processes using statistical and AI-ML-based tools to enhance industrial applications. My work in bioprocess engineering focuses on improving the production efficiency of biochemical transformations, while my interest in nanomaterials involves synthesising and engineering nanoscale structures with tailored functionalities. Additionally, using microbial systems and tailored enzymes for sustainable remediation, I research bioremediation techniques to deal with environmental pollutants. Overall, the main objective is to promote biotechnology and materials science by connecting basic scientific findings with practical engineering applications.
My current research interests include enzyme and fermentation technology, as well as protein bioinformatics. I have attended several workshops, training programs, and conferences. I am a life member of the Association of Microbiologists of India (AMI) and the Biotech Research Society of India (BRSI). I have published articles in reputable journals with high impact factors.
