About
Dr. Kamalpreet Kaur has recently completed her Doctoral degree from Panjab University, Chandigarh, India on the topic of "A Teleidoscopic View of Harry Potter Series: An Indian Perspective". As the title suggests, she has undertaken a comparative and interdisciplinary study of J. K. Rowling's Harry Potter series from the perspective of Indian Philosophy. The themes and examples of Desire, Knowledge, Truth, Magic[k] and Magical realism in Rowling's work have been studied through the prism of the six systems of Indian philosophy, specifically Nyaya [Indian System of Logic], Vaiseshika [Indian system of Atomism], Samkhya and Yoga. She was able to rationalize this comparison between two such differently placed subjects via the interdisciplinary concepts of Deleuze and Guattari.
