About

Currently working as an Associate Professor (in the Dept. of Microbiology) at the School of Basic and Applied Sciences at Dayananda Sagar University, Bangalore, India. Along with teaching I am actively involved in research in the field of nanomaterials, biomaterials, bio-composites employing sustainable technologies and bioengineering initiatives. For the past 5 years I have been working in the field of drug delivery systems using various approaches. Prior to this, for almost a decade I was working on metallic nanomaterials, bioremediation, metal ion uptake and its degradation, considering its adsorption and accumulation factors by using microbes and other model organisms. I have thorough knowledge about characterizing biomaterials and my interest in the field of nanomaterials has given me a strong base in the same. I am well versed with BSL2 and BSL3 work and SOP's, synthesis of nanomaterials, antioxidant assays, flow cytometry, animal cell culture, stem cells (MSC's), studying cell adherence and differentiation using high-end microscopes, performing MTT, MIC and MBC assays and I have good exposure in working with AAS, SEM-EDX, FTIR, HR-TEM, DLS etc.
