Somnath Das was a Research Scholar under ‘UGC-BSR Research Fellowship in Science for Meritorious Students 2011–2012’ in the Department of Production Engineering, Jadavpur University, Kolkata. Recently, he is an Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering Department of Swami Vivekananda Institute of Science and Technology, Kolkata. He graduated in Production Engineering from Haldia Institute of Technology in 2009 in West Bengal, India. He completed his ME in Production Engineering from Jadavpur University, Kolkata in 2011. He has published about 19 research papers in national and international conferences and journals and presented his research work in reputed conferences. His research interest includes unconventional machining processes and advanced manufacturing technology.
