About
Completed Ph.D in Pharmaceutics from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, India with the Senior Research Fellowship from Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR). Was awarded DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) fellowship to pursue postdoctoral research at University of Tuebingen, Germany and re-invited as a visiting Research Scholar. I have published about 20 research papers in peer-reviewed journals including book chapters and presented > 40 research papers at national and international conferences and among them 4 works received best paper awards.
Have unique skills set in interdisciplinary areas such as lipid biophysics, drug delivery systems, pharmacology and pharmacokinetics including cell based assays. My expertise in different disciplines allow me to characterize the lipid based nano-carrier systems from the structural and functional standpoint, formulate stable and effective drug delivery systems with unique capabilities for treating diseases which include psoriasis, arthritis, ventilator acquired pneumonia and HIV infection. Ameliorative free radical scavenging effects of antioxidants loaded into liposomes, solid lipid nanoparticles either as a single antioxidant or in combination is also a part of the research investigation. My expertise in pharmacology and pharmacokinetics would allow evaluating drug delivery system in suitable cellular & animal models and interpreting the data from the standpoint of translational potential. I have mentored PharmD graduates on various clinical based observational and interventional projects. I have been successful in receiving funding from the Federal governments of Germany and India to develop lipid based nanoformulations.
Currently pursuing my research on lipid based oral drug delivery systems for the management of infectious diseases
