About
Dr. T. Viswanathan is an Academic Research Professor in the Department of Information Display at Kyung Hee University, South Korea. His research focuses on the molecular design and synthesis of advanced organic optoelectronic materials for next-generation organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs). His expertise includes multi-resonance thermally activated delayed fluorescence (MR-TADF) emitters, boron- and nitrogen-containing π-conjugated materials, hyperfluorescence systems, circularly polarized luminescent (CPL) materials, and organic semiconductor chemistry.
Prior to joining Kyung Hee University, Dr. Viswanathan was a National Postdoctoral Fellow and IoE Postdoctoral Fellow at the Materials Research Centre, Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru, where he worked on the design and development of high-efficiency, narrowband MR-TADF emitters for OLED applications. He received his Ph.D. in Chemistry from VIT University, Vellore, India.
His research aims to establish structure–property relationships through rational molecular engineering to achieve high photoluminescence quantum yields, narrow emission bandwidths, efficient exciton utilization, and long operational stability in OLED devices. He has authored several peer-reviewed publications in leading international journals and actively collaborates with researchers in the fields of organic synthesis, photophysics, and display technology.
His current interests include blue and red MR-TADF emitters, boron-based organic semiconductors, chiral MR-TADF materials for circularly polarized OLEDs (CP-OLEDs), and the development of sustainable, high-performance emissive materials for next-generation display technologies.
