About

Our research delves into complex phenomena in quantum and correlated electron systems, focusing on emergent quasiparticle dynamics. We aim to uncover how various degrees of freedom—such as spin, charge, lattice, and orbital—interact to produce novel properties in materials. Our work spans low-dimensional quantum magnets, multiferroic and spin-orbit coupled systems, and light-matter interactions.
To investigate these intricate phenomena, we employ a combination of advanced optical and x-ray spectroscopic techniques, including resonant inelastic x-ray scattering and ultrafast time-resolved spectroscopy. We synthesise materials with intriguing physical properties and explore how non-equilibrium phases can be induced using light, creating states that cannot be accessed through conventional tuning of physical or chemical parameters.
The outcomes of our research has broad implications, providing fundamental insights into many-body interactions and unlocking advanced functionalities in quantum systems.
