Vinod Kumar is a Senior Technical Officer at the CSIR–Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB), Laboratory for the Conservation of Endangered Species (LaCONES), Hyderabad, India. He earned his Ph.D. in Wildlife Biology with research focused on conservation physiology, wildlife endocrinology, and chemical ecology. His work emphasizes the development and application of non-invasive hormone monitoring techniques for assessing reproductive and stress physiology in endangered wildlife. His research has contributed to the development of indigenous enzyme immunoassays (EIAs) for reproductive and stress hormones, validation of hormone monitoring methods across diverse wildlife species, and investigations into chemical communication and putative sex pheromones in the Indian mouse deer. He has also worked extensively on wildlife conservation projects involving species such as tigers, elephants, lion-tailed macaques, Himalayan ibex, blue sheep, and mouse deer.
