About
Dr Akhilesh Mishra is currently working in the Ministry of Earth Sciences, India. Earlier, Dr Mishra worked at the National Centre for Medium Range Weather Forecasting (NCMRWF), India. He is working in the area of coupled ocean-atmospheric modelling and forecasting. Prior to joining NCMRWF, Dr Mishra worked at Amity University Rajasthan as an Associate Professor at the Centre for Ocean-Atmospheric Science & Technology (COAST). Dr Mishra also holds a courtesy scientist position at COAPS, The Florida State University, Tallahassee, FL, USA.
Dr Mishra completed his Master's in Meteorology-Geophysics from Banaras Hindu University in the year 2000. Later, he worked at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi, the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM), Pune, and Florida State University. Dr Mishra's PhD is from the University of Pune/IITM Pune. Dr Mishra did his Post-Doctoral Research at The Florida State University with the Late Prof. T. N. Krishnamurti. After serving COAPS as Assistant and Associate in Research during 2011-2017, Dr Mishra joined Amity University Rajasthan in August 2017.
Dr Mishra worked in the areas of numerical modelling of the ocean and atmosphere, multimodel ensembles, NWP, Regional Spectral Model, Regional Climate Model, Dynamical Downscaling, and the Hybrid Coordinate Ocean Model (HYCOM) for climate and weather research.
