Dr. Syed Zahiruddin Quazi, the Executive Director of the Directorate of Research & Innovation at the Datta Meghe Institute of Higher Education and Research (DMIHER), is a distinguished figure spearheading clinical research and innovation across all the affiliate institutions of DMIHER, with a robust background in health technology, early childhood development, nutrition, maternal and child health. Recently, Dr. Quazi has evolved his expertise in Clinical Translation Research and Complex Health Interventions, particularly in biomedical engineering, with a notable focus on Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine.

His leadership has orchestrated successful pilot clinical studies on groundbreaking ventures like customised implants, bone scaffolds, and cranial grafts. Collaborating with esteemed institutions such as IISc Bengaluru, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Kanpur, and VNIT Nagpur, Dr. Quazi has demonstrated a remarkable ability to foster interdisciplinary collaboration, securing 15 Crore R&D funding from national and international agencies such as Grand Challenge Canada, World Health Organization, AusAID, ICMR, DST, PHRI, Imprint and Core Research Grant - SERB, DRDO, BIRAC and ICSSR

With over 250+ peer-reviewed publications in esteemed journals such as Lancet, Nature, PloS, BMJ etc. With significant editorial contributions in the Q1 ranking Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE) journals, Dr Quazi is listed in the Stanford/Elsevier's Top 2% Scientist Rankings.
Dr. Quazi's impact transcends academia. He has been pivotal in shaping policy frameworks and drafting key models for organizations like the WHO South-East Asia Region. Prof. Quazi is committed to indigenous product innovation, working with teachers to enhance students’ employability in the translational research sector and contributing to thought leadership and policy-making at various levels. Dr. Quazi's commitment extends beyond research; he actively mentors a multidisciplinary team, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
