About
Prof. Joby Joseph is currently a Professor in the Optics and Photonics Center, IIT Delhi. Prior joining to this, he was a Professor in the Department of Physics, IIT Delhi, where he was a teaching faculty since 1996. He holds Ph.D. degree (1992) in Physics and M.Tech. degree (1988) in Applied Optics from IIT Delhi. He worked as Senior Optical Engineer at Aprilis Inc., Maynard, MA, USA, towards developing an ultra-high density holographic digital data storage device. He has post-doctoral research experience from Kobe University, Japan and Univ. of Massachusetts, Boston, USA. He is investigator of various research projects from DST, DRDO & DIT. He has supervised 6 PhD and more than 50 MTech dissertations. He is co-inventor in three US patents and has published more than 80 research papers in reputed international journals. His current research interests are in Ultra-high density holographic data storage and search methods, 3-D interference lithography for photonic structure fabrication, Digital Holography, Optical data security, and Optical correlators for pattern recognition.
